I'mma be on the TVs!

OK, not actually me, but one of my books.

We got a call a bit ago from the people at "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". They were asking permission for my "Medical Aspects of Biological Warfare" book to be carried by Laurence Fishburne.

When I say "My" book I mean that I was the one that drew the graphics, adjusted the pictures, took them and the text and made it into something that could be published.

While I was in Kansas two of "my" books were delivered to the office from the press. "Medical Aspects of Chemical Warfare" and "A History of Dentistry in the US Army to World War II". Since I started this job (and made it productive [damn straight I'm taking credit for that]) I've published "Recruit Medicine", "Military Preventive Medicine: Mobilization and Deployment" (volumes 1 and 2), "Military Medical Ethics" (volumes 1 and 2), "Medical Aspects of Harsh Environments" (volumes 1 and 2). I also did a book that accompanied an exhibit over at the National Museum of Health and Medicine and created (all me) a virtual hand surgery program that was on their showroom floor for a couple of years. I'm currently wrapping up a pictoral history of Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Most of these books can be ordered online in assorted places or you can find the PDFs at http://bordeninstitute.army.mil/.

Harsh Environments 1 is most interesting while "War Surgery in Afghanistan and Iraq" is the most gory. For this last one I took a couple of pictures, drew some graphics, but mostly just tried to keep the graphics organized.

Wow! That is really graphic. Real gore is not nearly as entertaining as artificial or virtual gore.
